After earlier loss, gymnast Jordyn Wieber wows, helps bring U.S. team the gold!/jordyn_wieber/status/230382758235611136

Earlier today, the U.S. women’s Olympic gymnastics team pulled out a set of amazing performances that won them the gold medal, the first for the U.S. women’s team since 1996.

Incredible job by @Aly_Raisman, @GabrielleDoug, @Jordyn_Wieber, @Kyla_Ross96, @McKaylaMaroney today. #GoTeamUSA!

The victory was sweet for all involved, but perhaps even sweeter for Jordyn Wieber, 2011 women’s all-around world champion, who this weekend failed to qualify for a spot in the women’s all-around competition. After being knocked out, Wieber was devastated. If her glowing, ear-to-ear smile is any indication, though, her earlier pain has been replaced with pride, satisfaction, and utter joy.
