Wisc. public school teaches that conservatism restricts personal freedom

Is our children learning?

As part of a civics lesson, eighth-graders at Union Grove Elementary School in Wisconsin were asked to fill out a political crossword puzzle. According to the powers that be at the Union Grove School District, here are two lessons students should take away from the assignment:

Students learned conservatism is “the political belief of preserving traditional moral values by restricting personal freedoms … ”

Conversely, they learned liberalism is “the political belief of equality and personal freedom for everyone, often changing the current system to increase government protection of civil liberties.”

On the other side of the puzzle was a political survey. Students were required to complete it.

In what universe is this acceptable?
