Researchers Just Discovered This Alien-Like Fish In The Deepest Part Of The Sea

The final frontier on Earth is our vast and somewhat unexplored ocean’s depths. It’s a fairly well-established fact that we know more about the surfaces of the moon and Mars than we do about our oceans’ floors. While there are a number of reasons for this, it doesn’t take away from the amazing things that always seem to be discovered when humans venture to the depths.

Take, for example, the latest life-form discovered living in the Mariana Trench (the deepest spot in Earth’s oceans).

This amazing little bioluminescent jellyfish happily drifted by researchers on a NOAA mission 2.3 miles below the surface.

This is the kind of creature you’d expect to see digitally inserted into a big-budget Hollywood film, rather than spotted by a research vessel on the ocean floor.
